| The BRCC Fall Hike was this past weekend down in Red River Gorge. It was a great time. We had about 45 people go this Fall. A lot of people, but it was also a lot of fun!!! The weather couldn't have been better. It was crisp and cold on Friday night when we got there, but we just unloaded, set up the tents, and eventually headed off to bed. Saturday Ben Hess, Rich Wathen, Collin Watkins, Luke Weslyen(?), and I went running out to Chimney Rock. It was quite chilly. You can see the steam rising off of us!!!
We spent about ten hours of the day hiking it was great. Beautiful and sunny and just cool enough but not cold!
Rich Wathen and I ready to get going
We had a lot of stream crossings!
Lunch/nap time
It was fun getting 40 plus people down thru Pinch 'em Tight Gap!!!
Susi showed what most all the other kids were feeling after a lot of off trail hiking! Group Picture!
At the end of the day Saturday it seemed that we had done our job. Throughly wear everyone out!!! I think that we all slept very well Saturday night. It was really an awesome time out in God's creation just hanging out, spending time with one another, encouraging each other, and getting to know others better.

It's FALL!!! I love Fall! It is my favorite time of year. The brisk cool air, sweatshirts and jeans, FOOTBALL, bonfires, smores, hayrides, change of colors, the crunch of leaves underfoot as you hike or run, the approach of Thanksgiving and Christmas, and all the other cool things that happen. Also, unlike a lot of you, I enjoy winter if there is snow!!! The other day I was out at Southeastway park enjoying the season. I went for a run out there and that was cool! I am also very busy at work this time of year. Trying to keep up with all the hunters, halloween costumes, school spirit outfits, construction workers, and everybody else who deems my store worthy of a visit during this time of year! Tonight I was helping out at a play at my brother Jonathan's church and got suckered into doing something, I am not quite sure what yet, in the play. Maybe I should have found out what before I agreed to help, hmmmmmmm. I could be the town drunk, now that would be fun, and any reasonable Christmas play just HAS to have a town drunk or it just isn't right!!! The Fall hike is coming up next weekend for Brookville Road. I am looking forward to that, as I haven't been on a Fall one yet because they have always put it on Halloween weekend before. I hope that it is nice and still has leaves on the trees as I hear that it is beautiful in the Fall. Just no rain and it would be great. It can snow and be cold, but rain can get pretty miserable! More later...

| I had a "day off" the other day! That was exciting! Nowadays a day off seems to be just trying to catch up on things that I haven't gotten done because of work.I got my ears lowered (a haircut) and started working on a few other things that I needed to start doing. I didn't get them done by any means, but maybe sometime soon.... Today was great. Spent the afternoon at my cousins house. Played a bit of frisbee (of course) and shot a bb gun, not quite the same as a real one but still fun! Watched the Colts win in pathetic form also. They have got to find their mojo!

| Ok, I guess that a few days turned into quite awhile!!! It is amazing how time gets away. So anyway, the only reason that I am posting now is because I can't seem to get to sleep. I have been trying to for the last 2 hours or so and it just isn't working well. You know those times where you have thoughts rolling around in your head and you just can't seem to shut your brain down no matter how hard you try. Yep this is one of those times. It usually happens at the most inconvienent times. Like now when I have a really busy day tomorrow and need to get up early. So what got my head to going was that I met with some missionary friends from South Africa tonight. It was a really great time! They are here in the States on furlough and will be here in Indy till Dec. 14. We had a great time catching up and remebering my time down there with them. It was great to see their kids and how much they had grown in the last couple of years. I am now remebering how much I enjoyed my time there and how I have missed being involved as much in different ministries such as that. I know right now I am where I am supposed to be with work and everything, but I still miss having the time to get away and work with youth or go on a mission trip or some other sort of ministry. I sure look forward to the day that I will have a little more time to get involved again!!! Me with Dave and Joy Skinner in South Africa.
An interesting coincidence with them was that they were friends with my Aunt and Uncle years ago, way before I was born and they remain friends even today. I found that interesting. It's a small world! Also I have another person that I know going over/down to South Africa in January for a 6 month mission training program with Operation Mobilization and then he will have another year and a half where he serves somewhere else in the world, possibly continueing in SA. Another reason to go and help down there again in the future! Well, I guess I should attempt getting some sleep so the night is not a total loss! Hopefully this jotting down of a few thoughts will help with that...
